Job Description:
The Cosmetics Arts Technician is a full-time career service position. The Cosmetic Arts Technician prepares and processes correspondence and handles required forms for instructional, personnel, and operational functions; performs clerical duties such as scheduling and arranging appointments, preparing reports, maintaining files, ordering office supplies, answering the phone, taking messages and providing information on programs and services; assists salon receptionist with front desk functions during breaks, vacancies, or time off; participates in orientations and registration events for cosmetology, barbering, and nails programs; orders and receives office supplies for the cosmetology salon; performs cashier functions and maintains records in connection with the collection of money and liaison with the Cashier’s Office; performs monthly inventories of supplies, obtains quotes, and submits to program coordinator for review; and prepares requests for building maintenance, housekeeping, and property disposition. Additionally, the Cosmetic Arts Technician is responsible for knowing and conforming with all safety practices of the position and reporting all unsafe practices and violations to the immediate supervisor and the Department of Public Safety when appropriate. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Workforce Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and one-year full-time office clerical experience or equivalent. Demonstrate computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet navigation. College coursework may be a substitute for required experience Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment
ANNUAL SALARY: $26,100.00 ($13.39 - $17.20/hour)
